One of the biggest entertainment weekends in Michigan history is about to arrive. On Friday and Saturday, July 24–25, country music superstar Morgan Wallen brings his “Still The Problem” Tour to Michigan Stadium for two massive concerts expected to draw more than 220,000 fans over two nights.
Joining Wallen are an impressive lineup of special guests including Thomas Rhett, HARDY, Hudson Westbrook, and Blake Whiten, creating one of the strongest country music lineups of the year. For many fans, this will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience a stadium concert inside the iconic Big House.
The economic impact will extend far beyond Ann Arbor. Hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, parking facilities, and local businesses throughout Washtenaw County—and even into Metro Detroit—are expected to see a significant surge in visitors. Thousands of fans will arrive early, spend the night, and explore the region before heading home.
If you’re attending, planning ahead will make the experience much smoother. Allow extra travel time, consider parking or shuttle options in advance, stay hydrated during the warm July weather, and expect heavy traffic before and after each concert. Travelers who are not attending may wish to avoid portions of US-23 and I-94 during peak arrival and departure times.
Sports fans also have another reason to head downtown that same weekend. The Detroit Tigers host the Kansas City Royals at Comerica Park from July 23–26, highlighted by a special postgame performance from Flo Rida on Friday evening. That combination of baseball and live music gives Metro Detroit residents multiple opportunities to enjoy one of the busiest weekends of the summer.
Late July truly showcases what makes southeastern Michigan special. Whether your interests are music, sports, festivals, aviation, or art, there is no shortage of memorable experiences waiting just a short drive away.
