Wild Game Dinner and Shotgun Sports Event

THE MICHIGAN WWII LEGACY MEMORIAL HOSTS A WILD GAME DINNER
AND SHOTGUN SPORTS FUNDRAISER ON OCTOBER 12, 2024

ROYAL OAK, Mich., August 6, 2024 – The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial board of directors announces a Wild Game and Shotgun Sports fundraising event at the Multi-Lakes Conservation Association. This event will raise funds toward the completion of The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial in Royal Oak. The Memorial is the state’s official tribute to Michigan’s home front and warfront contributions in the war that changed the world.

5:30 PM Wild game dinner prepared by Chef Rocky Rachwitz; doors open at 4:00 PM
After dinner program, featuring Oakland County Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard

WHERE: Multi-Lakes Conservation Association
3860 Newton Rd, Commerce Charter Township, MI 48382

Participants are invited to take in the beautiful fall colors at Multi-Lakes Conservation Association grounds as they enjoy an afternoon of shotgun sports, including trap and skeet shooting. There will also be an opportunity to play the new $250,000 state-of-the-art Multi-Lakes sporting clay circuit. Participants must bring their own shotgun and ammunition (7.5, 8 or 9 shot).

Following an afternoon on the range, enjoy a delicious wild game dinner prepared by Chef Charles “Rocky” Rachwitz of Steve and Rocky’s. The dinner will include roasted leg of venison au jus, elk and rabbit sausage in peppers and onions, fried walleye, and semi-boneless quail with bacon wrapped jalapenos stuffed with cream cheese. The program following dinner will feature Oakland County Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard.

The event is a fundraiser for The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial and is open to the public. Reservations for all shotgun sports and dinner must be made in advance. You do not need to participate in the shotgun sports to attend the dinner and program. Chef Rocky requests dinner reservations be made no later than September 20th. Registration for all activities, including dinner, can be made at The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial website michiganWW2memorial.org.

ABOUT
The Michigan WWII Legacy Memorial is a 501c3 nonprofit organization working to build the state’s official tribute to Michigan’s warfront and home front efforts in the war that changed the world. Phase I of the Memorial was completed in August, 2023. Located in Royal Oak, the heart of the Arsenal of Democracy, the Memorial’s mission is to honor sacrifice, celebrate freedom, and educate generations, ensuring Michigan’s Greatest Generation’s legacy is passed on. The organization is currently raising money to complete the Memorial as designed.
