The Cancer Thrivers Network for Jewish Women will host a brown-bag lunch and knitting workshop, with Jo Gilbert of Knitting on the Fringe, 11 a..m..-2:30 p.m., Thursday, January 12 at the Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit, 6600 W. Maple Road in West Bloomfield. Reservations are requested to Janet Moses at (248) 738-3868 or janetmoses315@gmail.com. There is a $5 charge. New learners and experienced knitters are welcome.
Participants may bring their own bag dairy lunch or purchase food at Jerusalem Pizza in the lobby of the JCC. Dessert and coffee will be provided. Knitting materials will be provided, or you may bring your own.
The Cancer Thrivers Network for Jewish Women is a program of the Jewish Community Center. Established four years ago, the Cancer Thrivers Network continues to enrich and empower women cancer survivors through activities, friendship, resources, education and humor. The Network welcomes women who have been diagnosed with any kind of cancer at any time in their lives.
*”Thrivers” is a word describing the celebration of life. The Network is a sisterhood of women that encourages living the best life possible through friendship and positive experiences.
