Built in 1892 by parishioners who had split from St. Albertus, Sweetest Heart of Mary is Catholic Church that is predominantly comprised of people of Polish descent. In 1891, while it was in the process of being built, the building was repossessed by the bank. Many parishioners sold their own homes in order to buy the church back.
