The STAND in Oxford – The Lost Dogs ! !

Friday Night – May 21st

Mike Roe, Terry Scott Taylor, Derri Daugherty and Steve Hindalong are the Lost Dogs. They are the Traveling Wilburys of Christian music, vagabonds of American roots music, a little weird, sometimes wise and always wonderful. Back in the day, the music they made on their own kept alive the creative spark in the Christian music scene. Their bands (the Seventy Sevens, the Choir, Daniel Amos) made the kind of music that Christians could recommend to their non-Christian friends. This stuff was cool, not preachy.

Over the past thirty years, these veteran travelers have separately and collectively performed innumerable concerts throughout America and Europe, and since the formation of The Lost Dogs in 1992, have joined forces to produce nine critically acclaimed albums, while continuing with their individual musical endeavors. For years, the Dogs have quietly dazzled the folk/rock/gospel underground with their unique talents.

Brilliant singer/songwriters and storytellers on their own, together they make something special, eccentric, funny, and profoundly moving, music described as “Lake Woebegone meets Hank Williams meets Jim Carrey.” Coming together as a Christian supergroup, The Lost Dogs have lurked at the edges of the Christian music scene, still making strong musical statements…still cool.

Each year brings the Lost Dogs more recognition and critical acclaim, and they have most recently been invited to share the bill with George Jones, Dierks Bentley, and Delbert McClinton.

A little bit country, a little bit rock n’ roll, a whole lot of attitude, The Lost Dogs bring their musical stew to the Stand on Friday night, May 21. Hear timeless music from vital musicians with a passionate following, and who continue to deliver the goods.
