The Rochester Hills Public Library announces a four-part film and discussion series called “Roosevelts in the White House: TR, FDR, and the Lessons of Leadership”. Through film and discussion, we will compare these leaders and their times, looking for the human beings behind the myths. We will consider their successes and their failures, and share ideas about the legacy they left behind. Dr. Gregory Sumner, professor of 20th Century American History at the University of Detroit Mercy, will introduce and lead the discussion of each film.
The programs on Theodore Roosevelt will be held on Tuesday, October 5 and Tuesday, October 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The programs on Franklin Roosevelt will be held on Tuesday, October 19 and Tuesday, October 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Registration for the film and discussion series is open to those who live or work in Rochester, Rochester Hills, or Oakland Township and have a Rochester Hills Public Library card.
