The first three of 92 homes targeted for rehabilitation as part of a $14 million development project in Detroit’s Fitzgerald neighborhood are shined up and ready for sale.
New windows, floor, paint, walls brickwork, furnaces, counters and energy-efficient appliances are among the upgrades made to the once derelict and forgotten blemishes in the otherwise vibrant neighborhood.
The first three homes to hit the market are:
- 16230 Lilac, $90,000, is a three-bedroom, one-bathroom, 1,159-square-foot, two-story home with a basement and no garage.
- 16770 Tuller Street, $55,000, is a two-bedroom, one-bathroom, 784-square-foot ranch-style home with a basement and no garage.
- 16557 San Juan Drive, $65,000, is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,750-square-foot, two-story home with a basement and no garage.
The public may tour the homes during an open house from noon until 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8.
Buyers must make an annual salary of 80 percent or less of the median household income, $39,760 per year for a single person, $45,440 per year for two, $52,120 per year for a family of three and $56,720 per year for a family of four.
