MLive Media Group is in the process of determining the next Michigan High School Football Player of the Year, and the award could return to the Detroit area for the first time since 2016.
Last week, MLive announced the top 10 candidates for the Football Player of the Year award, with five of the candidates being from the Metro Detroit area.
This week, MLive’s Jared Purcell joined podcast host John Mackay Jr. of Infinity Podcast, LLC to discuss what the five Metro Detroit players bring to the table.
The five players from Metro Detroit are Rochester Hills Stoney Creek running back Cam Burford, Belleville quarterback Christian Dhue-Reid, West Bloomfield running back Donovan Edwards, Macomb Dakota running back/defensive back D.J. Stepney and Livonia Stevenson running back Caden Woodall.
