2017 marks the 200th Anniversary of the founding of the City of Rochester. Founded in 1817, Rochester is the first settlement in Oakland County. The City is planning a series of Bicentennial events throughout the year to celebrate this milestone event.
In honor of the Bicentennial, residents and visitors of Rochester are invited to donate their time and talents to put their favorite Rochester memories on canvas as a part of the #Rochester200 Project. Only 200 canvases will be available and can be picked up at the Rochester DDA, 308 ½ Main Street for a $10 registration fee, now through May 8. All canvases will be available for sale during the exhibition for $50.
The #Rochester200 Project Exhibition will be on display at Paint Creek Center for the Arts beginning on Tuesday, May 30 through Saturday, June 17. The event will conclude with the #Rochester200 Project Reception on Saturday, June 17, 6-9 pm. The reception will include appetizers and refreshments by The Meeting House and live entertainment. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online at downtownrochestermi.com or at the Rochester DDA Office. All proceeds benefit the Rochester Bicentennial.
