Get ready for downtown Rochester very first live , Rochester Posed scheduled for Thursday, October 3. Participating downtown Rochester businesses will turn their storefront windows into live mannequin displays. This year’s theme for Rochester Posed is Norman Rockwell scenes.
“Rochester Posed is something new and different for downtown Rochester,” said Stephanie Hellebuyck, Events Coordinator of the Rochester Downtown Development Authority. “It’s the perfect collaboration between a new-aged idea and something timeless and classic like the artwork of Norman Rockwell.”
Over 30 businesses will participate in Rochester Posed. The event will run from 5:00 – 9:00pm. Live “mannequins” will pose perfectly still in the windows and storefronts of downtown businesses from 6:00 – 8:00pm. In addition, participating businesses will offer in-store promotions from 5:00 – 9:00pm to encourage shopping and dining before and after the mannequin reveal.
Attendees will also be able to cast a vote for their favorite live mannequin display. Entry boxes will be located at the register of each participating business during the event on October 3, and the winner will be announced via Facebook on October 4.
A complete list of participating businesses and in-store promotions will be available in September. Maps will also be available in participating businesses in the weeks leading up to the event. The specific Norman Rockwell images depicted by participating businesses will be “unveiled” at 6:00pm during the event. Come to downtown Rochester to see the works of Rockwell come alive!
