Labor Day weekend festivals, fairs and walks happening in metro Detroit 

For Metro Detroit residents who are not traveling on Labor Day weekend, there’s a number of festivals, walks and other activities happening in the area.

Clarkston

• First Congregational Church Labor Day Car Show & Fair is 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 5 at 5449 Clarkston Road, Clarkston, antiques, food trucks, vendors, inflatables, 248-394-0200, facebook.com/fcclarkston.

Detroit

• Detroit International Jazz Festival is Sept. 2-5, downtown Detroit, free admission. For artists lineup, visit detroitjazzfest.org.

Franklin

• Franklin Community Association’s Labor Day Round Up is 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 5, downtown Franklin with a parade at noon, Art in the Village fine art fair is 10 a.m.-5 p.m., live music, inflatables, petting farm, magic show, jugglers, interactive circus, midway games, food by Leo’s Coney Island of West Bloomfield, classic car display, and dog rescue, facebook.com/franklincommunityassociation.
