When Joanne Moore received a pillow with a picture of her husband printed on the surface, she and her daughter, Karen, found themselves crying.
Karen Moore, 56, recalled how her mom ran her fingers over the pillow almost as if her husband were there.
“It means the world to her, because he meant the world to her,” she said.
The gift was a part of the homecare company Synergy’s Pillow Project. The COVID-19 pandemic has been particularly hard on seniors, who are more susceptible to the worst outcomes of the virus. As a result of the measures taken to keep everyone safe in the pandemic, clients of the home care company felt isolated and saw their day-to-day joys taken away, said Nicole Greer, owner of Synergy’s Chelsea franchise.
