HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games are coming to Detroit on Saturday, June 16

HERSHEY’S Track & Field Games encourages kids ages 9-14 to live balanced, active lifestyles by participating in community track and field games held across the country. This innovative program has been around for more than three decades and continues to encourage children and families to participate in fun physical activities to increase their overall well-being.

The local meet is expected to draw hundreds of local boys and girls who will test their running, jumping and throwing skills.

In honor of the 35th year of the Games, Hershey’s is celebrating with birthday parties that get not only young athletes, but the entire family involved. Families can:

  • Attend the Games to watch their kids aged 9-14 compete in the race
  • Play fun activities for kids of all ages like the “Jump Rope Boogie” and “Balloon Blast.”
  • Interact with representatives from the American Council on Exercise and Playworks, who will also be on hand offering tips for how to keep the family active all year long.

For those who aren’t able to attend the event, the free online RUN, JUMP, THROW Birthday Party Kit is available for download so that everyone can celebrate the Games at home. The best part is the kits don’t have to be just for birthday parties, but you can turn any afternoon into an active adventure.
