Forgotten Harvest Releases Food Distribution Sites May 4-8 

For those struggling to put food on the table these days, there’s help available.

Forgotten Harvest — which rescues food surpluses from grocery stores, markets and restaurants that would have gone to waste —  provides metro Detroit families who are food insecure, and have a hard time covering the cost of basic life necessities, with pantry items and groceries.

The organization will be distributing food at locations all around metro Detroit this week.

“We realize there’s a lot of people who still haven’t resolved their challenges with the health crisis, and tend to shift with whatever the need is in our community,” Forgotten Harvest CEO Kirk Mayes told WWJ’s Vickie Thomas. “And right now we’re most concerned about making sure we help people and we keep everybody safe.”
