Sixty-five restaurants and catering businesses have begun volunteering their time and staff to feed the hungry. Feed the Need is based on a program started two years ago in Charleston, South Carolina. Their first stop in metro Detroit? Cass Community Social Services.
Buffalo Wild Wings took over the kitchen on Wednesday, October 19, and served up a feast that the homeless won’t soon forget. Once or twice a month, other generous chefs will follow. We’re looking forward to P.F. Chang’s and the Culinary Arts students from Schoolcraft College. With the elimination of federal funding for food at Cass and the growing number of people struggling in this economy, the program couldn’t have come at a better time.
