On Saturday, September 9th, from 5 pm to 7 pm, Eos Cafe and Coffee Shop in Saint Claire Shores will open its doors to musicians, artists, and those who want to have a one-of-a-kind listening experience.
Local singer-songwriter, Sarah Dalton, will be hosting True Originals Open Mic, which will allow musicians, comedians, poets, and any artist to share original works with once in a lifetime audience. Each artist can share two original pieces in a family-friendly listening atmosphere. “This will be a great place to try out new material and see how audiences respond,” says Sarah. “Also a great opportunity for artists to cross-pollinate”
Sarah and her husband, Matt came across Eos on their way home from a Saturday wedding. Sarah immediately loved the atmosphere and asked a staff member if they ever did live music. He said they had a few times and if she was interested she would need to talk to the owner, Tony.
“I just felt like I needed to do an open mic there. It was such a cool venue,” said Sarah. It took some campaigning, but Eos management agreed to open the door to test drive the idea of an open mic on September 9th, which is also Sarah’s birthday.

Artist sign-up for the open mic list starts at 4:30 pm on Saturday, September 9th. The open mic will run from 5 pm – 7 pm. Sarah said she hopes for at least eight artists to sign up and for a full house, in hopes that Eos will see the business opportunity and make it a monthly event.
