DTE Energy Co. is unveiling plans for a new public park in downtown Detroit.
A groundbreaking is scheduled for Tuesday morning for the park, which is planned for the western edge of Detroit’s central business district.
The 1.5-acre park will be across the street from the Detroit-based utility’s headquarters.
The utility says the park is part of a broader effort to improve Detroit’s downtown and will help link the area to The District Detroit. The district includes the Red Wings’ arena that’s under construction and other planned entertainment venues and housing developments.
