The Dogde Memorial Fountain and Hart plaza was designed by Isamu Noguchi in 1972. Noguchi was a prominent sculpter with works that can seen around the world. Detroit may be known for it’s automotive history rather than it’s art but we are home to many works by equally famous painters, artist and architechs. Luwig Mies van der Rohe, Albert Kahn, Minoru Yamasaki and Frank Llyod Wright all have works within Detroit’s city limits. Like the other names mentioned, I am also a great admirer of Noguchi’s work.
