The Detroit Youth Choir took over U.S. homes this summer courtesy of its appearances on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” This fall, it will be taking over an annual Detroit tradition.
The choir will serve as grand marshal for the 2019 edition of America’s Thanksgiving Parade, the Parade Company announced Monday. This year’s parade theme is Detroit Shining Bright.
The choir, director Anthony White and former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer will lead the 93rd edition of the parade Nov. 28. Archer served as Detroit mayor from 1994 through 2001.
The choir, which was previously listed as the parade’s opening act, will also perform at annual parade fundraiser Hob Nobble Gobble on Nov. 22 at Ford Field. It will be opening for star attraction Nelly.
