Detroit Metropolitan Airport has been named the No. 1 airport in all of North America when it comes to overall traveler satisfaction, according to J.D. Power.
While ever-increasing travel volumes have led to constant construction and delays at many airports across the continent, a study has found that travelers have felt the most satisfied with their flying experience after passing through DTW.
J.D. Power says the overall passenger satisfaction rose just one point (on a 1,000-point scale) this year in its annual North America Airport Satisfaction Study, mainly due to construction and other disruptions. Now in its 14th year, the study is based on responsed more than 30,000 from American or Canadian residents who traveled in the past year and focuses on six factors (in order of importance):
- Terminal facilities
- Airport accessibility
- Baggage claim
- Security check
- Check-in/baggage check
- Food, beverage and retail
