Detroit fireworks will be TV only in 2021: Where to see shows near you

Looking to go see a show of fireworks for July 4th? Look no further than metro Detroit, with many communities bringing back the events after last year’s cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among the largest of the events is the Ford Fireworks display, which will be broadcast on WDIV-TV (Channel 4). For the second year in a row, the public will not be allowed to view the fireworks in person when they are shot off at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township, but the show is expected to return to its home in downtown Detroit next year. The park will be closed that day.

And plenty of other events are scheduled. Now that pandemic restrictions have been lifted, there is keen interest in events and in consumer purchases, with retailers expecting to sell out.
