Next, it seemed time for salad, so we opted for the Cork Salad, a simple mixture of greens, herbs, shaved fennel and a red wine vinaigrette. When it came to the main courses, we chose “Oakland Park Lamb,” two perfectly-cooked chops, with a black mission fig gaujillo sauce, and minted quinoa salad. At the recommendation of Executive Chef Rubin Griffin, we also tried “Ridge Road Rabbit,” a delectable combination of herbed papardelle, pancetta, corn, wild mushrooms, corn cream demi, with brandy-braised rabbit shreds. Unique and wonderful! Next time, maybe the grass fed “Cambridge Filet”…
As we pondered the dessert menu, we found ourselves with a happy challenge. All desserts are made in-house by Chef Rubin, (“Stone Fruit Cobbler;” “TresLeches,” a three milk Almond Cake; etc.) and sound enticing, but finally, upon our server Jon’s recommendation, we tried the light and fruity “Italian Strawberry Short Cake,” lemon pound cake, strawberry balsamic compote, vanilla Greek yogurt pannacotta. Superbe! – Richard and Theresa Dalton
