A new attraction at the Detroit Zoo is proving popular among visitors during hot days.
The fountain is located outside the $30 million Polk Penguin Conservation Center, which opened earlier this year at the zoo in Royal Oak.
The Detroit Free Press reports (http://on.freep.com/28IvsiG ) the fountain includes more than two-dozen water jets that blast upward and features an outline of Antarctica. During the winter months it will become a 1,100-square-foot ice skating rink.
