More than 100 state artists will feature their fine art skills at the Fifth Annual Clinton Township Festival of the Senses from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 and 25. The festival will be held on the grounds of the township Civic Center, 40700 Romeo Plank Road just south of Canal.
The Festival of the Senses is truly a delight for all your senses…sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. In addition to featuring artwork such as paintings, photography, metal working, pottery and textiles, the Festival offers a wide assortment of food and entertainment over both days. Three local restaurants will highlight their cuisine with specially-priced lunches between $6 and $8 in the food tent adjacent to the entertainment stage. Other
Sixteen different entertainment venues will fill both days offering a constantly changing musical, dancing and magic atmosphere to the festival grounds.
The Clinton Township Historical Commission will offer tours of the Old Moravian Hall and Log Cabin. Members of the Commission will be on hand dressed in 18th and 19th Century clothing to take visitors on a tour of history and artifacts on display in both buildings. Blacksmithing and quilting demonstrations will be held, while youngsters will be treated to a variety of early American games and activities. The Commission will also dedicate the recently completedRose Gardens Pergola at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 24. The pergola features metal trusses that originally came from the Rose Gardens greenhouses that were demolished several years ago.
