Clarkston Independence District Library, 6495 Clarkston Road, was named the Best Library in Southeast Michigan by Click on Detroit.
WDIV Channel 4 included libraries in their “Best of the Best” competition this year and viewers were asked to vote for their favorite library among the 17 libraries nominated in the region.
Clarkston Independence District Library Director Julie Meredith said, “We’re excited about the vote of confidence and that we’re on the right track of what the community loves about the library.”
Trevor Winn, business and marketing librarian, said, “This was a vote of confidence for the programs we offer, our early literacy programs, programs for teens and the blockbuster summer programs that served 1,000 children, teens and adults. The families are responding to the summer programs and services we provide.”
About 150 community members celebrated at the library last Wednesday, looking at the award plaque and talking about the programs and services at their library.
