Metro Detroit’s largest Greek Festival, Opa! Fest, will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year, set for June 16-18 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Troy. The annual event features a wide variety of authentic Greek food, costumes and dancing that celebrate Hellenic culture, a Greek marketplace, raffles and prices, and several special events including live cooking demonstrations by Chef Christina Xenos of Los Angeles; an Iron Chef Competition at 8 p.m. Saturday between St. Nicholas Ann Arbor and St. Nick’s Troy; and a Cooking Competition at 2:30 p.m. Sunday between St. George-Bloomfield Hills and St. Nick’s Troy.
