Campbell Ewald, a marketing and communications agency, has partnered with the College for Creative Studies (CCS) to provide Detroit high school students with hands-on learning and mentoring through the CE CITY — Creatively Inspiring Talented Youth — Workshop program. Applications are now being accepted through February 29, 2012, for the free six-week workshop that will be held at CCS on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., beginning March 17, 2012.
The CE CITY Workshop is a competitive learning experience where students will be divided into teams and will work with mentors from Campbell Ewald and CCS to develop TV public service announcement ideas. The program is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled in a Detroit high school. There is no cost to attend, but the students must be willing to dedicate their time and passion to nurture their creative talent.
“As part of our commitment to give back to the community, we created CE CITY to foster the abundance of talent we see in the youth of Detroit,” said Bill Ludwig, chairman and CEO of Campbell Ewald. “The CE CITY Workshop will provide these students the opportunity to develop creative solutions for real marketing challenges.”
The Workshop is a component of CE CITY, the initiative Campbell Ewald created to celebrate their centennial anniversary. The agency partnered with two Detroit organizations, the College for Creative Studies and YouthVille Detroit. Together, they are all donating time and talent to give back to the community and support the next generation of creative talent. CE CITY was kicked off this past November with the CE CITY Panel, a free symposium for high school students to learn about the educational and career opportunities in creative-related fields.
Students interested in the workshop can sign up by visiting www.facebook.com/CECITYDetroit and filling out the online application.
