The Kris Kringle Market returns to downtown Rochester this holiday season, Friday, Dec. 6, 4:00-10:00 pm and Saturday, Dec. 7, noon-10:00 pm. The market will be located on W. Fourth Street between Main and Walnut and will coincide with The Big, Bright Light Show.
The Kris Kringle Market, presented by Lincoln of Troy, is inspired by the 700 year-old tradition of the European Christmas markets. Visitors can enjoy the food, shopping, entertainment and ambience of an open-air holiday market. Offerings include hand-crafted gifts, ornaments, fresh holiday greens, baked goods, specialty foods and much more.
Kids attending the Market can visit with Santa Claus, sponsored by Henderson Glass and Kidz 1st Pediatrics, and make a craft at the Children’s Activity Station sponsored by Henderson Glass and The Learning Experience. Santa will be on site throughout the entire event. Parents bring your camera for photo opportunities in the kid-sized gingerbread playhouse.
On Saturday, don’t miss out on a rare opportunity to see the world-renowned Express Clydesdales and take a ride down Main Street to view the spectacular Big, Bright Light Show in the Express Stagecoach.
Products range from personalized ornaments and hand-knit mittens to Dresden stolen and traditional German spiced wine. Vendors include Pewabic Pottery, Nitsches Meats & Deli, the Original Strudel Factory, Iconic Detroit, U.P. Pasties, Moon River Soap Company and more.
Musical entertainment will be provided throughout the event and sponsored Michigan First Credit Union. Food and beverage will be available in the warming tent. Purchase a commemorative glass mug filled with hot spiced wine from Fieldstone Winery or enjoy a glass of handcrafted beer from the Rochester Mills Beer Co.
“With one-of-a kind shopping, food and drink, musical entertainment and great gifts for the holidays, this community-wide event will become part of your holiday tradition,” commented Nancy Voges, Marketing Coordinator for the Rochester DDA.
