The first day of school is on the horizon, with more than a dozen metro Detroit school districts opening for the first day of school in August, before the traditional start after Labor Day.
For more than 60 metro Detroit school districts, the Detroit Free Press has compiled dates for the first day of school, fall breaks (and any breaks around Thanksgiving), spring breaks (as well as mid-winter breaks, if a district offer ones) and the last day of school.
