Thursday marks the deadline for cities seeking Amazon’s new second headquarters to submit their proposals. The city that Amazon chooses will see up to 50,000 new jobs and several billion dollars of new investment over 20 years.Here are five things we know so far about Detroit’s bid:The city will submit by Thursday a regional proposal developed by Quicken Loans founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert and his “war room” in downtown Detroit. Mayor Mike Duggan, Windsor city officials, Gov. Rick Snyder’s staff, and other business and civic leaders are among more than 50 people who have been involved in the process. The proposals will be kept confidential, both at Amazon’s request and to avoid giving other cities a competitive advantage by seeing Detroit’s concepts. So ordinary Detroiters may get just a general idea of what we’re offering.Amazon has said it will announce a winning city in 2018.
