A Troy business, Sterling Cleaning Services, Inc. and a local Ram’s Horn Restaurant in Rochester Hills are giving back to the community this Holiday Season. The companies are offering free meals to citizens in the metro-Detroit area who are in need. They are hosting a five hour free dinner time at a local Ram’s Horn Restaurant in Rochester Hills on Rochester Road and Hamlin Road for those who are in need in the area on Monday December 13th.
Sterling Cleaning Services, Inc. has been cleaning Ram’s Horn Restaurant on Rochester Road and Hamlin Road for several years. The owners of Sterling Cleaning Services, Inc. Dan Fitzgerald and Tom Bruce came up with the idea in cooperation with Greg Thomas proprietor of Ram’s Horn Restaurant on Rochester Road and Hamlin Road to give back to community during Holiday Season in 2009. They hosted a five hour long meal at Ram’s Horn where 250 people were able to come and enjoy an early Holiday celebration. They are excited about hosting the 2nd annual Help the Hungry dinner this year.
Local charities donated items such as hats, gloves, mittens, and hygiene products that patrons can have when they leave.
“The whole idea is to give back to those who have been through rough times this year” Dan Fitzgerald stated, “We just wanted to try to make a difference this holiday season.”
Many of the employees of Sterling Cleaning Services, Inc. have offered their time and will be volunteering during the meal. “We are excited about helping those around us who might not be as fortunate as us this holiday season.” Lisa Meldrum, Human Resources Director of Sterling said when asked about volunteering for the event.
