It was about nine years ago this outreach to the forgotten in the inner city of Detroit began. I think of it’s beginnings, it was Jerry, Jim and Jesus, two men meeting for morning breakfasts of bible reflection, prayer and fellowship who decided to put feet under their faith and reach out.

Maintenance to Mission Outreach

They started in a van, pulling up to needy people on the street each Saturday Morning and offering a coffee, a sandwich, a coat, a new pair of boots and some prayer together.  This underfunded ministry continues in a church hall on Woodward Ave. each Saturday.  Jerry even bought a house right nearby, where outreach goes on all week.  I see many success stories – I think Mike’s story will move you. When I met him he was living under a bridge, hooked on drugs.
